CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – A Richmond man has been arrested after police say he sexually assaulted a woman while she slept earlier this year. James S. Brugh, 22, has been charged with misdemeanor sexual battery and misdemeanor unlawful entry.

Charlottesville Police said the alleged sexual assault reportedly happened on October 15. The incident was reported on October 24.
A woman told police she was asleep inside her home, when she was awoken by the assault.
The woman said she was able to get the suspect to leave.
After an investigation, Charlottesville Police identified Brugh as the suspect in the case.
He was arrested and charged on Monday, December 5.
He has since been released on bond.
