RICHMOND, Va. — A man, who was dressed as a woman, was found shot early Sunday morning on a Richmond sidewalk, according to Richmond Police.

William Norwood, 30, of the 3800 block of Caulder Street, was taken to the hospital. He was pronounced dead at 10:16 a.m.

Richmond Police are looking for the person who shot Norwood near the intersection of Hull Street Road and Toles Furniture Company Street around 1:15 a.m. Sunday.

“Detectives have interviewed a few people, but there are others they would like to hear from; especially those who were in the area last night or may have known the victim,” a Richmond Police spokesman said. ”

“We would like to speak to anyone who may have information about Mr. Norwood – his activity that night and possible associates,” Richmond Police Lt. Donald Davenport added. “We have interviewed a Good Samaritan who stopped to render aid, but there were others in the area, too, last night. We would like them to give us a call.”

Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 804-780-1000.
