RICHMOND, Va. -- Summer officially begins on June 20, but June 2016 has started off feeling like summer with above-normal high temperatures and moderate to high levels of humidity. In a typical June, our normal high temperature approaches 90° by the end of the month and the normal low approaches 70°.
Some of the longer-range computer models indicate alternating periods of hotter weather with occasional cooling, which is pretty typical, and would average out to be a fairly normal June.
After finishing the wettest May on record with nearly ten inches of rainfall, the outlook for this month is near-normal rainfall, which is under four inches.
