STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. -- A Richmond man has been arrested after allegedly fatally shooting a man in a domestic dispute while dropping off a child before leading deputies on a foot pursuit Friday night.
Deputies charged Corey Andrew Terry with first-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission in relation to the shooting.
The shooting happened at 7:15 p.m. at the Exxon gas station in the 1040 block of Courthouse Road near I-95 and State Route 630. That is where deputies said Terry shot 20-year-old Austen Tyler Agnor of Chester after a domestic dispute altercation over a child custody exchange that was taking place.
Agnor was pronounced dead at Stafford Hospital Center.
After firing multiple shots, authorities said Terry ran across Courthouse Road and onto the southbound ramp of the interstate. Terry was pursued by Stafford County deputies with help from the Virginia State Police, a helicopter from the Fairfax County police and a K-9 unit from the Spotsylvania police.
Terry was apprehended by a trooper without incident at 9 p.m. near the intersection of American Legion Road and Jefferson Davis Highway.
He is being held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
Officials said the investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Friend of suspect 'surprised'
Garrick Reece said he met Terry at the Old Dominion Job Corps Center in Stafford, a place to earn a diploma or G.E.D. through job skills and other training.
Reece said Terry was training to be a painter when he completed the program.
“ I never thought he would be the type to do anything like this. It just surprises me,” Reece said.
He believes his friend may have snapped.
“This is totally out of character for him. He was laid back and relaxed , never really gave anybody problems, kind of stayed to himself. And just did what he had to do,” Reece said.
