RICHMOND, Va. -- Numerous concerned and upset parents emailed and called WTVR CBS 6 Tuesday afternoon because their children's school buses were running late. Some parents of Chesterfield and Richmond students said their children were dropped off 45 minutes to an hour late.
School leaders addresses those concerns.
"As we run the bus routes they will make adjustments and we will keep making adjustments to fine-tune the system and cut-down on travel time, but we need time to collect more data," Richmond Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Dana Bedden said.
He described the first week of school has a transition process.
"We never walk into the school on the first day thinking everything is going to be perfect," Dr. Bedden explained.
