High pressure provided clear skies, dry air and light winds Thursday night into Friday morning. Dew points dropped into the 50s in many areas. This allowed daybreak lows on Friday to drop into the 50s and lower 60s across much of central Virginia.
No major records were broken, but this marked the coolest low temperature since the end of June.
Saturday morning's lows will be a few degrees warmer, and then heat and humidity will limit lows to the upper 60s and lower 70s for the rest of the week.
