BROKEN ARROW, Okla. --  Police said an 18-year-old along with his younger brother used knives and a hatchet to fatally stab five family members last week in Oklahoma, KTULreports. Additionally, the pair's 13-year-old sister was seriously injured and a two-year-old girl was found unharmed.

Police said 18-year-old Robert Bever stabbed his parents and his three siblings to death in their home Wednesday night.

A mug shot shows Bever with disheveled hair, dirt on his face and in his eyes.

"He looked to me like he had a smirk on his face," said Corporal Leon Calhoun with the Broken Arrow Police Department.

Law enforcement sources said one of the siblings has given a full confession, stating that the murders were planned and that the killing was not supposed to end here. In fact, KTUL reported that Bever said the murders were the start of "a string of killings planned outside of the family."

The confession was reportedly given with no hint of compassion or remorse.

"I don't know if there was any remorse or anything going on at this point," Calhoun said. "I just don't know how if he's even comprehending what has happened or if he is really, is so removed that he can't feel remorse -- it's unknown."

In fact, police called the homicides a brutal rampage of violence.

"I was told knives, there was a hatchet, there was several different types of weapons that were actually used in the homicides," Calhoun said.

But news of the slayings has neighbors stunned. One neighbor, Billie Paolini, described the accused as a "very sweet" and "very kind."

Paolini said her daughter knew Bever and that the boy loved his family.

"[He] even walked to Walmart to buy them Christmas presents from here, which is quite a ways," she said.

Investigators have said Bever's 16-year-old brother helped carry out the attack.
