FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — Police are investigating a shooting at  Fredericksburg apartment complex that left one man dead.

According to Natatia Bledsoe with the Fredericksburg Police Department, police received several calls about shots fired on Greystone Court in Fall apartments around 4:30 Saturday morning.

Investigators found two bullet holes in the walls of a top-floor staircase and questioned the residents of the apartment closest to the scene of the gunfire, Bledsoe said. Both residents denied any knowledge of the incident.

“At 8 a.m. this morning, an officer responded back out to the scene to search for additional evidence,” Bledsoe said. “While there, the officer was approached by one of the same residents of the upstairs apartment who reported that he had just found one of his housemates dead inside a bedroom.”

The victim, who has been identified as 25-year-old Tesean Dorsey, died of an apparent single gunshot wound to head and appeared to have been sleeping when he was shot, Bledsoe said.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the Fredericksburg Police Department at 540-373-3122.
