Posted

RICHMOND, Va. – GRTC will resume its seasonal express service from Downtown Richmond to Kings Dominion on Memorial Day Weekend.

Starting Saturday, May 23, 2015, GRTC will operate its usual daily service through Labor Day weekend, September 7, 2015.

In addition to serving the general public, this express service provides the option of public transit for students in the Mayor’s Youth Academy and for other area young professionals who have summer employment at Kings Dominion.

Passengers can board the 102x Kings Dominion Express at two locations: Southside Plaza and at a special Kings Dominion Bus Stop at Broad & 9th Street in Downtown Richmond.

The 102x bus also services all westbound bus stops between 12th Street and Belvidere Street for express service directly to Kings Dominion. Southside Plaza is the recommended pick-up and drop-off location for vehicular traffic.

Starting June 19, the last bus departs Kings Dominion at 11:30 p.m., and maintains that schedule through August 16.

When the park closes at 8 p.m. the final bus departs at 8:40 p.m.

After Labor Day through Halloween, GRTC will continue seasonal express service on Saturdays and Sundays.

The fare remains $5 the same as previous years.

Visitors can avoid the cost of gas and parking, save wear and tear on their cars, and fully relax by letting someone else do the driving when they visit Kings Dominion, said GRTC.
