RICHMOND, Va. -- Police are on the scene of a fatal accident at Grove and Commonwealth avenues, across from Mary Munford Elementary School.
Both vehicles involved were headed east on Grove Avenue when a white Mitsubishi Outlander drove up on a silver-colored Audi, according to the reporter on scene. The Outlander went airborne, jumped a curb, went through a fence and into a house on the eastbound side of Grove Avenue.
Witnesses said that the Outlander was going at least 90 m.p.h. past a business on Grove Avenue just five minutes before the crash.
The Outlander driver has life-threatening injuries. The female driver of the Audi was killed.
A Richmond Public School official confirmed that school releases at 3:35 p.m. The first accident reported to police came in at 2:47 p.m.
