RICHMOND, Va. — A man who was wounded during an altercation with Richmond police will have to wait for his day in court.
A judge continued the case against Roderick Hardy on Monday morning.
The 29-year-old is charged with felony assault on a law enforcement officer and two weapons charges.
Richmond Police Chief Alfred Durham said officers approached Hardy outside the Richmond Inn and Suites on Midlothian Turnpike last Wednesday after witnessing him involved in a “transaction.” That’s when Hardy allegedly took off running, then pulled a gun on officers and was shot.
Hardy, who is being held without bond, is scheduled to appear in court on April 17.
