RICHMOND, Va. -- A former Virginia Commonwealth University professor convicted of trying to have sex with a child is free on bond.
Federal agents said they lured Andrew Clarke on a website called Social Incest in October of 2013.
Court documents revealed that over the course of several online chats Clarke revealed he had sex with his friend's children before. Additionally, he set up a meeting in Fairfax to molest the children of an undercover agent posing as a dad who's into family sex.
CBS 6 reporter Chelsea Rarrick spoke with a neighbor of Clarke's Wednesday afternoon.
Lloyd Eicher said the news of Clarke's convicted has stunned the Tappahannock community. Eicher said he was well liked and had been to his home for dinner before.
However, Eicher said the details regarding Clarke's charges were too disturbing to even read.
"It's sad," said Eicher, "and I'm concerned now because I understand he's still out."
A spokesperson for VCU confirmed Clarke taught at the University from 2011-2014.
Clarke also served as the Director of the Didlake Center for Autism Services, but a spokeswoman said he was fired as soon as learning of his arrest last year.
"It's just disgusting, it makes you feel terrible," said Eicher.
Clarke will be sentenced in May.
