Burning car found near Richmond’s Buttermilk Trail

RICHMOND, Va. — Police are investigating how a burning car ended up at the bottom of a steep embankment near Riverside Drive and the Buttermilk Trail in Richmond. Richmond Police and Fire crews were called to the area of West 28th Street and Riverside Drive at about 1:46 a.m. on Friday to investigate “something” on fire.

Crews eventually found the burning car, but there was no one inside the car. No other cars appeared to be involved, police said.

Police asked anyone who saw anything suspicious along Riverside Drive, near Reedy Creek, to call Crime Stoppers at 804-780-1000.
