RICHMOND, Va. — The University of Virginia Cavaliers are now the second-ranked college basketball team in the country. A Saturday road win over then #13-ranked Notre Dame, coupled with a Sunday road loss by then #2-Duke helped propel undefeated UVa. into the number two position. Virginia and #1-ranked University of Kentucky are the only unbeaten teams left in college basketball.
The VCU Rams, winners of eight in a row, rose to #17 in the polls after a 89-74 win Saturday over St. Joesph’s.
On December 6, Virginia defeated VCU 74-57 at the Siegel Center.
