CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- A silhouette of something serious happening in a Chesterfield neighborhood as several streets were blocked off earlier this evening.
John Skinner was fashionably late for a Christmas party he was supposed to go to as police surround a house a couple of doors down on the 5600 block of Winterleaf Drive. Authorities were working off a tip that an armed man may be inside.
“Not your typical Christmas Eve,” Skinner said. “Kind of put a burden on us because we were blocked in."
Chesterfield County police say their presence here stemmed from a 911 call made off of the 11900 block of River Road, when a family Christmas gathering turned violent after a heated argument erupted.
When the victims decide to leave and get in their car, police say the suspect grabbed a gun and shot at that car.
The car was hit at least once. No one was injured

Even though police said a family at odds is what caused this--the search is on now for a suspect who fired shots at an occupied car.
