RICHMOND, Va. - The Valero gas station in Richmond's East End is a daily stop for Demetria Bookerd.
"Everyday I fill up, if it's $5, $4 it's worth it," she said.
Bookerd said it's one of the cheaper stations to fill up at, at $2.26 a gallon.
CBS 6 compiled a list of the lowest and highest regular gas prices in the Richmond Metro area on our Gas Tracker.
According to our Gas Tracker the majority of lower prices are in Richmond's East End. Gas is $2.21 at Sam's Club and $2.25 at another Valero station on Williamsburg Road.
"It's amazing," said one driver.
We asked Tammy Arnette with AAA Mid-Atlantic the reason for the lower prices in some parts of the city.
"Some areas may be experiencing a local supply and demand issue, but it's really nothing that's going to break the bank," said Arnette.
Arnette also said a gas station's location to the supply terminal can also play a role. If a station is closer to the whole sale supply terminal it's easier for the trucks to deliver.
As for the higher gas prices, according to Gas Tracker, the Pure gas station in Chesterfield costs $2.75 a gallon. At the BP in Glen Allen, gas runs $2.69 a gallon.
