POWHATAN COUNTY, Va. — A Farmville woman was hurt and taken by med-flight to VCU Medical Center after her Jeep ran off Route 60 and hit a tree.

The accident happened at about 5:40 a.m. Wednesday. The crash closed Route 60, near Ballsville Road in Powhatan County, for about an hour.

Mary Jones, 45, of Farmville, suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries when her Jeep overturned during the crash, Virginia State Police spokesman Sgt. Steve Vick said. Virginia State Police are investigating what caused Jones to drive off the road.
