RICHMOND, Va. — The Washington Redskins may call Central Virginia home each summer, but not everyone in Central Virginia would consider them the hometown team.

Facebook put together a map that showed where football fans lived based on which NFL team they “Like” on the social media network.

“Each county is color-coded based on which official NFL team page has the most Facebook “Likes” by people who live in that county,” a Facebook spokesperson said.

While most of Virginia is burgundy, for the Redskins, there are pockets of Dallas Cowboy blue south of Richmond, near the Tri-Cities and along the Virginia-North Carolina line. There is also a smattering of Pittsburgh Steeler gold in far southwest Virginia.

The NFL on CBS kicks off Sunday, September 7 with the Cincinnati Bengals taking on the Baltimore Ravens at 1 p.m.

Thursday Night Football on CBS premieres September 11 when the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Ravens.

On Sunday, September 14, CBS will show Jacksonville vs. the Washington Redskins at 1 p.m. and the Kansas City Chiefs vs. the Denver Broncos at 4:25 p.m.
