Gunman robs Chesterfield gas station, escapes into neighborhood

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- Police are looking for the man who robbed the Circle K/Exxon gas station at 2117 Willis Road at about 6 a.m. Wednesday.

The man was armed with a gun when he walked into the store and demanded money from a clerk, police said.

The man escaped the store and ran off into a neighborhood near the business and police were searching the area around Carroll Lane, which is less than a mile from the robbery.

About 30 minutes before that, there was an attempted robbery at the Circle k in the 2300 block of West Hundred Road.

Additionally, a man armed with a rifle or shotgun robbed the Circle K on Temple Avenue in Colonial Heights around 3 a.m.
