Victim in hospital after South Richmond shooting

RICHMOND, Va. — Police are looking for the suspect in connection to a shooting that sent a victim to the hospital early Sunday morning.

According to Richmond police,  units responded to the 6800 block of Midlothian Turnpike for a report of random gunfire at 4:15 a.m.

Officers on the  scene did not find anything. But ten minutes later an off-duty Chippenham Hospital guard reported a victim was transported to the hospital  with non-life threatening gunshot wounds to the leg.

According to police, the suspect wanted in connection to this incident was driving a newer model Nissan sedan.
