SHORT PUMP, Va. – The craft beer trend has flowed into Richmond’s most popular mall.
Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery opened June 2 at 11800 W. Broad St. near the food court at Short Pump Town Center.
Dale Nelson, Rock Bottom’s general manager, said the Denver-based chain spent about $3 million to transform the 8,500-square-foot space into the company’s 38th location. This will be the second Rock Bottom in Virginia, following a site in Arlington.
The restaurant rang up $9,500 in sales on its opening day, Nelson said. About 500 people stopped in to taste Rock Bottom’s beers, including a Kolsch, IPA, Belgian Wheat, Belgian Ale and Coffee Cream Stout.
