RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – A flash flood watch is in effect for roughly the western half of Virginia as periods of moderate to heavy rainfall are likely through Thursday morning.
These rounds of rain come to us from the powerful storm system slowly spinning over the Midwest that will very gradually drift eastward. This system will not only bring potentially flooding rains to Virginia, but also the likelihood of severe weather Tuesday and particularly Wednesday.
The James River will likely rise above minor flood stage by Thursday.
