STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) -- A foreign exchange student from Saudi Arabia accused of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl in Stafford County was arrested at Washington Dulles International Airport Sunday.

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office said 20-year-old Hamad Mastour Alsuwat was charged on Sunday with 1 Count Object Sexual Penetration.

This after a deputy was called to a Stafford home for a possible domestic disturbance on Saturday.

While investigating the domestic disturbance, the deputy discovered Alsuwat had sexually assaulted a 17- year-old female resident.

Since Alsuwat was not at home, officials initiated an investigation and contacted Homeland Security since Alsuwat was deemed a flight risk.

Alsuwat was arrested Sunday at Washington Dulles International Airport by U.S. Customs and Border Protection as he prepared to board a flight for Saudi Arabia.

"Due to the sensitive nature of this ongoing investigation no additional information will be available at this time," Stafford County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Bill Kennedy said in a news release.
