WASHINGTON (WTVR) — Police Chief Cathy Lanier of the Metropolitan Police Department tentatively identified the body of an adult male found at the search area at Kenilworth Park in Northeast, D.C., according to WUSA 9, who attended an evening press conference.
Lanier tentatively identified the body to be Kahlil Tatum, the alleged abductor of an 8-year-old Relisha Rudd. She was last seen on March 1, with Tatum.
“Tentatively it appears the person we found here today is in fact Mr. Tatum,” she said.
Officials said the cause of the death is likely a suicide. “It still appears at this time, it is a suicide,” said police.
Tatum was charged with the murder of his wife, found in Oxon Hill on March 21, 2014.
