WINCHESTER, Va. (WTVR) — While conducting touch-and-go landings, a small aircraft ran off the runway on Sunday at the Winchester Regional Airport.
Frederick County dispatchers said a call about the incident came in from the airport around 12:13 Saturday afternoon for a small plane crash.
Selena Manuel, manager and executive director at the airport, said the Cessna 195 ran off the runway, taking out a light and a going through a sign before stopping in grass.
The plane took off from Martinsburg, West Virginia. There were at least two people on board, and dispatchers say no injuries were reported.
Manuel also said the airport is shut down until the Federal Aviation Administration approves the removal of the plane. Virginia State Police are also investigating.
