CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – A man arrested for robbing a Colonial Heights bank with his wife on Christmas Eve is now charged with two Chesterfield County bank robberies.
Eric J. Shelton, 40, was charged with robbery and wearing a mask in a public in connection to the Dec. 4 robbery at Virginia Commonwealth Bank branch along the 4600 W. Hundred Road and the Dec. 14 bank robbery at the Bank of Virginia branch along at 4023 W. Hundred Road, according to Chesterfield Police.
During both crimes, the robber passed the teller a note that demanded money and then ran away from the bank.
Shelton and his wife Angela were arrested following a Dec. 24 robbery of the EVB bank in the 3000 block of Boulevard in Colonial Heights.
He is being held at Riverside Regional Jail.
