Truck driver charged in Henrico school bus crash

GLEN ALLEN, Va. (WTVR) - Police charged a truck driver with failing to obey a traffic signal following a morning school bus crash.

The 61-year-old Beaverdam man was was taken to VCU Medical Center with serious injuries, according to Henrico Police spokeswoman Lt. Linda Toney.

He and the school bus driver were hurt when their vehicles collided near the intersection of Springfield and Staples Mills Roads in Glen Allen.

The school bus driver suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

There were no students on the bus at the time of the crash which happened about 6 a.m.
