Driver, 86, dies in West End crash

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – An 86-year-old Gum Springs man has died following a Sunday crash in the West End.

“A Subaru Outback was traveling south on Stillman Parkway, while at the same time a Ford Fusion was traveling west on Mayland Drive,” Henrico Police said about the Sunday afternoon crash. “The driver of the Subaru failed to stop for the stop sign and collided with the Ford Fusion. The driver of the Subaru was transported to VCU Medical Center where he died as a result of the injuries he suffered from the crash.”

Police identified the driver as 86-year-old Vivian Ray Parrish, Jr.

No charges have been filed in the case. Police said neither alcohol nor speed appeared to be factors in the crash.
