CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – The Chesterfield County School Board selected Dr. James Schroeder to represent the Midlothian District on an interim basis.

Schroeder will serve until March 18. A special election will then be held to elect a permanent board member.

“I’m excited to rejoin the School Board, if only for this short period,” Schroeder in a statement. Schroeder had previously served as that district’s school board representative for 13 years.

“Public service and public education have always been passions of mine, and I still have that fire burning within me. I look forward to serving the residents of the Midlothian District one more time during the next four months,” he added.

Schroeder replaced Patricia M. Carpenter who resigned for health reasons last month.
