Patients evacuated from Ashland dialysis center

ASHLAND, Va. (WTVR) – Patients were safely evacuated from an Ashland dialysis center after smoke started to fill the building, according to Hanover Fire Battalion Chief Jason Williams.

Fire crews responded to U.S. Renal Center at 113 South Washington Highway in Ashland about 7:30 a.m.

While fire crews investigate the cause of the smoke, the 13 patients who were inside the center are not allowed back inside.

Hanover Fire and EMS crews are working now to make sure those patients remain safe outside of the building.
