HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – A Henrico teenager will be among those recognized this month as Youth Philanthropist of the Year.
Anna Wong, a William and Mary freshman and 2013 graduate of J.R. Tucker High School, was nominated by The Daily Planet. She is one of six honorees.
“I feel extremely honored to be recognized as Youth Philanthropist of the Year, especially since I was nominated by people whom I deeply admire and respect,” Wong said in a statement. “What makes me happiest is that I’m not being recognized as an individual, but rather as a representative of the many young people who strive to give back in creative ways.”
The award is being presented by The Association of Fundraising Professionals Central Virginia Chapter as part of its celebration of National Philanthropy Day.
