CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – A man accused stealing a golden Jesus necklace and other jewelry from a Chesterfield mall was arrested on Sunday.
Samuel G. Mamudu, 25, of Henrico, is charged with robbery, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Police said Mamudu robbed Prince Jewelers in Chesterfield Towne Center last week.
Detectives said they used fingerprint evidence, left at the jewelry store, to identify Mamudu as the suspect.
Mamudu flashed a gun during the robbery, police said. No one was injured in the incident.
Mamudu remains jailed and is scheduled to appear at a bond hearing Tuesday.
Police were able to recover the stolen jewelry.
