Richmond Symphony offers free tickets to furloughed federal workers

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – The Richmond Symphony is offering two free tickets to an upcoming performance of Verdi’s Requiem to all furloughed federal employees.

The performances are scheduled for Saturday, October 19 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, October 20 at 3p.m. Both performances will take place at the Carpenter Theatre at Richmond CenterStage.

“This blockbuster concert will include both the Richmond Symphony with conductor Steven Smith and the 150 member strong Richmond Symphony Chorus with choir director Erin R. Freeman. Guest artists include soprano Kelley Nassief, mezzo-soprano Jennifer Feinstein, tenor Marco Panuccio, and bass Kevin Deas,” according to a media advisory.

Furloughed federal employees can claim tickets by showing a federal ID at the box office.
