UPDATE: Steven A. Dunn, 20, has turned himself in to police, according to the Chesterfield Police Department.

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – Police are looking for a man wanted for killing a horse on a Chesterfield farm.

Police obtained warrants for Steven A. Dunn, 20, for maiming or killing of livestock and reckless handling of a firearm. Dunn is believed to be in Greensboro, N.C.

Police connected Dunn to the June 30 shooting of a horse named “Legend” on a farm along Winterpock Rd.

“He walked up through my pasture to my horse barn and shot one of my horses,” Legend’s owner Henry Gleghorn said the day after the shooting. “And they pretty much walked right up to him and assassinated him, basically.”

In July, a $1,000 reward was announced for the tip that led to an arrest in the case.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Chesterfield Police at 804-748-1251 or Crime Solvers at 804-748-0660.
