Convenience store manager arrested for selling Spice

HOPEWELL, Va. (WTVR) – Police charged a Hopewell convenience store manager for selling the synthetic drug commonly called “Spice.”

Rushdi Mubarak, 39, of Colonial Heights is charged with Distribution of Synthetic Cannabinoids. Mubarak manages the Corner Store along the 2200 block of Atlantic St.

“We will continue to identify individuals who sell these products and bring the appropriate charges, and we would like to thank the citizens who help us identify the locations that sell these products,” Hopewell Police Lt. Damon Stoker said in a statement.

This arrest was announced in addition to five similar arrests Hopewell Police announced over the weekend.
