RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - No charges will be filed against a truck driver following a morning accident that injured two 10-year-old boys. Richmond Police said the boys rode their bicycle into the path of a box truck and were hit.
The incident happened along Chamberlayne Avenue near Watkins Street in North Richmond.
Richmond Police spokeswoman Dionne Waugh said police were called to the intersection about 9:46 a.m.
People in the neighborhood who heard and saw the crash rushed over to help the children.
"I heard a scream and looked out the window and I saw the two kids lying on the ground and I saw the truck stopped," witness Keith Sylvester said.
Police added the investigation into this incident "remains ongoing" and asked anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000 or text Crime Stoppers at 274637.
