I-95 manhunt ends under Va. bridge

SUSSEX COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) - The man at the center of a two-day manhunt along Interstate 95 in Sussex County, Virginia was arrested Wednesday afternoon, confirmed Sussex County Sheriff Raymond Bell.

Bell said deputies found Dorel Pickett, 33, under the Rowanty Creek bridge on Route 301 near Interstate 95 along the Sussex-Prince George County line.

Police had been looking for Pickett since Tuesday morning when he ran off after officers pulled his vehicle over for speeding on Interstate 95 in Stony Creek about 6 a.m.

Police said they found a large quantity of drugs in the vehicle. Investigators said Pickett had tens of thousands of dollars worth of heroin in the car.

A second man in the vehicle, identified as William Walton, was detained at the scene, investigators said.
