FREDERICKSBURG, Va. (WTVR) - Police arrested the parents of a two-year-old boy found wandering alone in the parking lot of a Fredericksburg motel. James Brown, 31, of no fixed address, and Courtney Love Brown, 19, of Spotsylvania are charged with felony child neglect, according to Fredericksburg Police spokeswoman Natatia Bledsoe.
Police said the couple's child was discovered around 5:40 a.m. Thursday outside the Hospitality House at 2801 Plank
Road. The child was only wearing his diaper, police said.
Unable to locate the child's parents, police took the two-year-old boy to Child Protective Services.
Hours later, about 11:30 a.m., police found the child's father, James Brown, walking near the hotel. About an hour later police were able to get the child's mother, Courtney Love Brown, on the phone.
Police said neither parent reported the child missing. Both parents are being held at Rappahannock Regional Jail with no bond.
The child remains with Child Protective Services.
