Temperatures soar Wednesday

Posted

A warm front lifted through the state early Wednesday morning, ending our period of cool (cold) temperatures from the first part of the week.

Highs soared into the upper 80s and lower 90s in many locations.  For Richmond, it was the second warmest day of the year.

This very warm weather occurred only roughly 36 hours after many locations saw a frost morning on Tuesday.   While Richmond experienced a 47° jump from Tuesday morning to Wednesday afternoon, some places — which had lows in the 30s and highs near 90° — saw more than a 50° jump during that period.

Warm temperatures will continue through Friday, but a cold front will bring slightly cooler weather for the weekend.
