HENRICO, Va. (WTVR) -- Fire crews were dispatched to investigate a suspicious substance at the Henrico Court Complex shortly after 3 p.m. on Thursday.
Henrico County Sheriff Mike Wade confirmed to CBS 6 News' Shelby Brown that
a letter came to clerk's office at the court's building.
When an employee opened it, she may have come in contact with a suspicious substance. That worker said she started to feel ill and was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
The Henrico Fire Department was dispatched and secured the letter in an envelope.
Wade said the letter, which originated from an extermination company, might have been accidentally tainted with the substance.
The sheriff said he does not suspect foul play.
