Mitt Romney pushes SVU grads to live ‘abundant lives’

BUENA VISTA, Va. (WBDJ) -- Former presidential candidate Mitt Romney urged graduating students at Southern Virginia University to live “abundant lives.”

More than 1800, only 114 of which were graduating students, gathered on the school's lawn to hear Romney's commencement speech on Saturday.

The school is a private liberal arts college that follows the teachings of the Mormon Church. Romney and his family are Mormons.

The university's president says the former Massachusetts governor was an excellent choice as speaker.
