POWHATAN COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – Charges against the Powhatan man who shot and killed his neighbor’s two Siberian Huskies have been nolle prossed. Louis Nigro, Jr. was charged with two counts of felony animal cruelty afterhe shot and killed the dogs in February.
Nigro’s lawyer said the charges were dimissed because there a state statute that entitles a landowner to protect his livestock.
Nigro told investigators he killed the dogs because they were trying to get into his chicken coop.
