LOUISA COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) -- The trial for Louisa Vice Mayor Mary Clarke and her grandson is set to begin Monday.
This comes after an alleged altercation started between the vice mayor’s grandson, 19-year-old James Clarke III, and her husband, James Clarke Sr. back in February.
Investigators said Vice Mayor Clarke and her grandson assaulted Clarke Sr. during the incident.
The pair were charged with assault and battery for allegedly beating Clarke's husband.
Despite the charges, Clarke still holds her position as vice mayor.
