Rams win; ‘Havoc’ back home

RICHMOND, Va (WTVR) - While the Rams were beating the Akron Zips in record breaking fashion, black and gold nation went wild back in Richmond.

Chants and cheers erupted from hundreds of Rams fans who watched VCU's opening round NCAA tournament game at Home Team Grill on Main Street.

"The only thing I can really think of tonight is BOOM-SHAKA-SMARTA!" said Houston Scott.

"Our defense is something special that no one else has," said Candace Brooks.

Large crowds of black and gold clad fans also turned out to bars and restaurants from Shockoe Bottom to Stony Point.

The Rams 47-point victory was the largest margin of victory of a #5 seed over a #12 seed in NCAA tournament history, according to multiple reports.

The Rams' impressive opener have some in Ram nation thinking a Final Four run could be in order.

"We're on our way to Atlanta,to the Final Four," said Brooks.

"Michigan doesn't stand a chance," said Paul Tindle.

VCU plays the #4 seeded Michigan Wolverines on Saturday at 12:15pm. You can watch the game in Richmond on CBS 6.
