SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – Deputies said they did not have a hard time tracking down two men accused of robbery. The suspects’ car ran out of gas, Spotsylvania deputies said.
Deputies were called just past midnight Friday morning when a man said he was robbed outside a Wawa store on Harrison Road. The man said he’d given the robber a ride from Mary Washington Hospital to the Wawa before he was jumped.
The suspect took the victim’s money then got into another car to get away. Investigators tracked down the getaway car when it ran out of gas in the area of Plank and River Roads, deputies said.
Johnny Ray Brooks, 28, is charged with strong arm robbery and obtaining goods by false pretense. Jon Dean Kimmel, 37, is charged with conspiracy to commit strong arm robbery. Both men are being held without bond at Rappahannock Regional Jail.
