Trial date set for Louisa vice mayor, grandson

LOUISA COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) -- A trial date has been set for Louisa Vice Mayor Mary Clarke and her grandson.

Major Donald Lowe, with the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office, said an altercation started between the vice mayor’s grandson, 19-year-old James Clarke III, and her husband, James Clarke Sr. last month.

Lowe said Vice Mayor Clarke and her grandson allegedly assaulted Clarke Sr. during the incident.

The pair were charged with assault and battery for allegedly beating Clarke's husband.

Both Clarke and her grandson will be tried on April 1.
