LONDON — A posh magazine in London is mourning a beloved dog killed in a tragic revolving door accident.

The Daily Mailreports Alan the dachshund, a Tatler staffer’s dog, died Monday after he tried to rush through a revolving door at the magazine’s headquarters in Vogue House on Hanover Square.

The website stated that a staffer taking the dog for a walk ran into trouble when they were headed back inside the historic building. Alan reportedly spotted another man already inside the revolving door and tried to catch up.

Firefighters were called after the animal – and the man– became lodged in the door.

Crews were on the scene for about an hour, but Alan died.

The woman who owned the dog, Jennifer George, sent out the following tweet Tuesday:

“Yesterday my tiny much loved man Alan passed away in a tragic accident. Thank you to all that were there to help, all the kind wishes and all who followed @TatlerAlan” George wrote on Twitter.

Alan, who also had a Twitter account, had amassed nearly 4,000 followers as of Tuesday afternoon.

The account now offers a chronicle of the pooch’s adventures.
