HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) - Tuckahoe Elementary School students returned to their normal classrooms Thursday morning. The students had been forced to travel to Short Pump Middle School these past few weeks after a fire damage their school last month.
Henrico Schools spokesperson Andy Jenks said it cost about $800,000 to repair the school. Floor tiles, ceiling tiles and light fixtures were replaced, he said.
The fire was caused by a sparking overhead florescent light that caught a school couch on fire.
