FARMVILLE, Va. (WTVR) – A 70-year-old man police have been searching for since Tuesday was found safe in Roanoke County Friday.
Police said William Henry Hairston was found wandering in woods not far from where Roanoke County police found located his abandoned Maroon Pontiac Grand Prix.
Hairston was spotted on Thursday in Goochland, at the intersection of Route 6 and Route 45.
He spoke to a person who says he seemed confused, and was asking for directions to Farmville.
He was reported missing on Tuesday after he left his South Main Street home in Farmville, according to an email from Farmville Police Lt. Andy Ellington.
Hairston is on medication for Dementia and Alzheimer’s. Ellington said during a previous incident Hairston was found in Hanover. His family told police they believed Hairston may be headed to Maryland to visit relatives.
