HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) -- Police arrested a man in a daycare parking lot Tuesday wanted on 15 felony warrants after a chase in Henrico's West End.

CBS 6 senior reporter Wayne Covil shot video of the arrest as law enforcement ordered the suspect to surrender.

The US Marshals Service said Diatation Langhorne was wanted on charges, including fleeing and eluding, possession of cocaine and probation violations, in Buckingham, Charlottesville and Fluvanna.

Police first detained Langhorne after a chase in Henrico's West End. A law enforcement source told CBS 6 reporter Jon Burkett that police received a tip that  Langhorne was spotted in the Richmond area.

However, as task members first approached the suspect, the source told Burkett that the suspect drove off.

The suspect eventually bailed out of his vehicle in the area of West Broad Street and Gaskins Road.

A brief time later, while police were searching a daycare's parking lot near Deep Rock Road, a K-9 officer located the suspect hiding under a tree.

With their guns drawn, the officers ordered Langhorne to surrender

There were some tense moments as police went door to door and told several businesses, including the daycare, to lock their doors.

The arrest surprised workers who spotted the commotion.

"He was 20 yards from our door and we never even saw him and the police were just walking down the parking lot," Ethan Call told Wayne Covil. "All of a sudden, the dog took off -- and they were within 10 yards of the man -- ... and the dog just took the police right too him."

Page Call, who also saw what happened, said she was frightened that someone was on the loose right outside where she worked.
